A few thoughts about denim 

If you’ve been around here a little while, you know I am very budget conscious! I really love finding a great deal! I was a single mom for five years, and you better believe I turned into a deal finding machine 🙂  That said, one thing I don’t spent mind spending a little bit more money on is denim. Here’s why:

• Denim is a staple in your closet, you will wear it multiple times a week and if it’s a good pair of jeans, you’ll wear it for multiple years.
• Denim is so stinking versatile – dress it up or down; board room to play room!
•  Much of my career in the fashion industry was spent designing, sourcing, buying, and even making financial plans around them… I know a ridiculous and mildly embarrassing amount about denim:
  • The fabric itself ranges from inexpensive “spongy “denim, to fine Italian or Japanese fabric… The good stuff is unbelievable and feels so luxurious on your body!
  • The wash process for denim is incredibly labor-intensive, it may include hand sanding, people sliding each individual pair of jeans onto a blowup form so that they can apply specific distressing or abrasion or wash techniques to specific areas of the gene. Therefore, even if you buy from a large retailer and all of them look like, each pair will usually have its own unique properties.
  • After the hand applied techniques, each pair will go through multiple washes including some chemical some with specifically source stones (usually pumice), and more.
  • There is a lot of work that goes into each pair of jeans you buy! 
• Don’t be afraid to invest in really good denim, you will feel like a million bucks in a pair jeans that fit you really well and feel really good on your body!
